Wike, in a message to residents of the FCT, emphasised that the occasion, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of community and mutual respect among the FCT’s diverse population.

He specifically commended residents for their unwavering commitment to peace and harmony, crediting this cooperation as a key driver of the administration’s achievements since assuming office.

“The FCT is blessed with a diverse and vibrant community that represents the rich cultures of our great nation. Our strength lies in our unity, and our progress depends on our ability to live in harmony with one another,” he said.

The minister also outlined key focus areas, including the provision of essential infrastructure, improved security, and enhanced social services.

“The FCTA is committed to infrastructure development to improve connectivity and accessibility across the FCT, expanding access to quality medical care, and enhanced emergency response services as well as ensuring a safer environment for residents and visitors alike,” he said.

Wike urged residents to reciprocate by fulfilling their civic duties, encouraging them to extend a hand of friendship to neighbours of all backgrounds while also contributing to the public good.

“I urge you all to meet your obligations to government and society. Contribute to the growth and progress of our beloved FCT by obeying traffic rules, paying your taxes, and engaging in civic activities,” the minister said.

The minister also appreciated law enforcement agencies, healthcare workers, and essential service providers for their tireless efforts in keeping the city safe and functional.

He implored residents to use the period to pray for the success of President Bola Tinubu, noting the administration’s appreciation for his support for the FCT Administration and efforts towards the development of the nation’s capital.

He wished all residents a joyous celebration, saying, “May this Eid-el-Maulud bring you and your families peace, prosperity, and happiness. Let us strive to emulate the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).”
