Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to farmers and food security for residents of the state.

Adeleke, who spoke at the commissioning of Farmers’ House and Free Distribution of Agricultural Inputs to Rice Farmers in Osogbo, stated that the event transcends mere commissioning of building but is an affirmation of his administration’s commitment to the well-being of farmers and ensuring the availability of food for the people of the state.

“The commissioning of this building for the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) is more than the opening of a structure but a statement of our government’s commitment to farmers and food security,” he said.

He disclosed that no fewer than 300 rice farmers would go home with free paddy rice seeds to boost production in the state.

Earlier, the commissioner for Agriculture, Otunba Babalola Faseru, said, “We have carefully selected 10 rice farmers from each local government, which aggregated to 300 farmers across the state.

The event witnessed the overwhelming endorsement of Governor Adeleke for a second term in office by the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), citing his administration’s commitment to boosting agricultural production and ensuring food security in the state.

AFAN representative, David Ogunsade, who was represented by Toki Adekunle, stressed that endorsement became a necessity following Governor Adeleke’s achievement in the Agricultural sector and the need to complete all the projects embarked.

Similarly, the representative of Rice Farmers, Ayeni Mathew, commended the Governor for his laudable initiative of distributing input to rice farmers in the state, saying the group has over 1000 hectares of rice plantation across the state.
