The Dolly Children Foundation (DCF) has successfully concluded its four-week

The free Summer 9.0 programme is a holiday initiative designed to provide children with academic support, digital skills, and creative empowerment.

This year, the programme expanded its reach beyond community-based centres to impact children across Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, and Abuja. Led by its founder and convener, Adedolapo Osuntuyi, the programme provided structured learning opportunities in literacy, numeracy, arts, and technology.

A key highlight was the digital creativity track, where children advanced from basic computer use to developing websites with AI and designing storybooks with Canva.

The Gamaliel and Susan Onosode Foundation (GAMSU Foundation) played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this year’s programme.

GAMSU Foundation funded teachers’ salaries and donated back-to-school materials, guaranteeing that the initiative remained free for all participants while also encouraging the teachers who committed their expertise.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Adedolapo Osuntuyi, founder of Dolly Children Foundation, stated that “summer 9.0 has once again demonstrated that when children are given the right platform, they thrive. We are immensely grateful to the Gamaliel and Susan Onosode Foundation for their unwavering support, which has allowed us to expand our footprint across Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, and Abuja. We aim to take this initiative even further, ensuring that more children in underserved communities benefit from this life-changing program.”

In her remarks, the executive director of GAMSU Foundation, Toyin Olanrewaju, stated that “access to quality education and equal opportunities are fundamental to national development. Partnering with the Dolly Children Foundation aligns perfectly with our mission to empower the next generation. By ensuring that no child is left behind due to limited resources, we are building the foundations for a brighter and more inclusive future.”

Also speaking, founder of Reel Foundation, Ajoke Adeola, underscored the impact of the digital sessions, saying, each edition of this partnership with the Dolly Children Foundation reaffirms its dedication to education and empowerment, noting that, “We are proud to have witnessed children transition from having little digital exposure to becoming creators of websites and digital stories. The success of Summer 9.0 proves that with the right resources, children can exceed expectations and become confident digital innovators.”
