Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has appointed Justice Lillian Agbai as the acting chief judge of the state, charging her to sustain the peace and harmony existing among the three arms of government.

The seat became vacant after the former chief judge, Justice Onuoha Kalu Ogwe, retired last Wednesday on attaining the mandatory age of 65.

During the occasion at the Government House, Umuahia, Ikpeazu expressed confidence that Agbai would conduct herself creditably in her new position.

Congratulating her for the appointment, the governor promised that the government would support her to ensure that the state judiciary attains greater heights.

While commending the state judiciary for setting a template for a seamless transition, he thanked her predecessor for working in synergy with the other arms of government.
