Ambassador Eka A’adu Dickson, a distinguished entrepreneur, philanthropist, and global youth advocate, has been honoured with the traditional title of Ota-Okpenyi Ny’Igede by the Igede Intermediate Traditional Council (IIATC).

The ceremony, held on 6th September, 2025, was presided over by the royal father, His Royal Highness Oga Ero,  the First Class Chief of Igede Land, who personally adorned him with the historic title.

This extraordinary recognition makes Ambassador Dickson one of the youngest in the annals of Igede history to attain such an exalted position, having been crowned at the age of 39 — a remarkable feat that speaks volumes of his towering influence, sterling achievements, and uncommon commitment to humanity.

As the Chairman and Group Managing Director of the Ekason Group of Companies, Ambassador Dickson has demonstrated visionary leadership across industries, building enterprises that are not only profitable but deeply impactful. His flagship undertaking, the Ekason Signature Project in Makurdi, is a monumental legacy project — a hub for peace-building, economic empowerment, and cultural renaissance.

His philanthropy has been equally transformative. Through life-changing scholarships, he has opened global opportunities for Igede youths to study in Africa, Europe, and Asia.

His passionate support for the Igede Agba Festival has elevated it into a unifying cultural platform. At the same time, his interventions in health, education, and community development have touched countless lives across Benue State and beyond.

Above all, Ambassador Dickson has stood out as a voice of reason and a champion of unity. He has fearlessly condemned communal violence, provided critical relief to victims of crises, and championed reconciliation initiatives that have restored hope to fractured communities.

By conferring this exalted title, His Royal Highness Oga Ero, CP (Rtd.), and the IIATC have not only recognised Ambassador Dickson’s towering achievements but have also entrusted him with a sacred responsibility — to be a custodian of Igede heritage, a beacon of hope for the younger generation, and a defender of the values that hold the Igede nation together.

His elevation at such a youthful age sends a powerful message: authentic leadership is not measured by years, but by vision, sacrifice, and the courage to build a legacy greater than oneself.

Congratulations to Chief Ambassador Eka A’adu Dickson, Ota-Okpenyi Ny’Igede, a son of destiny whose life at 39 already embodies excellence, resilience, and a boundless commitment to humanity. His new title is an honour and a call to even greater service.
