Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have apprehended a man for allegedly raping a minor in his shop.

Police said the complainant alleged that a young sales girl aged 14 years sought shelter in the suspect’s shop during rainfall, but the suspect took advantage of the situation and took her into the inner part of the shop where the victim was raped.

Police image maker in the state, SP Suleiman Yahaya said the “suspect attempted to induce her with money and a promise to buy her a mobile phone in order to conceal the unlawful act”.

Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Dankombo Morris condemns any form of sexual abuse against children and had ordered for a discreet investigation into the crime.

Morris also assured that the case will be diligently prosecuted to ensure that justice was served.
