LEADERSHIP gathered that the deceased, a 35-year-old Tewogboye Omowumi was confronted by her younger sister, Iluyemi Bosede, who demanded N800 for tomatoes and pepper previously purchased.

It was further learnt that the argument escalated when Bosede grabbed her sister’s clothes, causing Omowumi to fall.

The deceased was rushed to the hospital but was subsequently pronounced dead on arrival.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, said the suspect has been arrested and held in custody while investigations continue.

CP Lawal urged residents to resolve disagreements through dialogue and avoid violence, stressing that the police will ensure justice in the matter.
