The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nasarawa State chapter, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde is dead.

Barde’s death has thrown the ruling party in the State into mourning.

According to family sources, Hon. Barde passed away on Tuesday in Lafia after a brief illness.

The sources said the deceased will be laid to rest in his hometown, Wamba, in accordance with Islamic rites.

The State Secretary of the APC, Chief Otaru Douglas, who confirmed the demise of the party chieftain to newsmen, described his death as a huge loss to the party and the entire state.

Prior to his emergence as the party’s deputy chairman, Barde had served as Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Wamba local government area during the administration of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
