Gunmen Abduct Corps Member

Gunmen have reportedly abducted a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a student of the University of Jos at Dong Community of Jos North local government area of Plateau State.

The abduction has throen residents in shock after the gunmen stormed a residence where the victims were whisked away on Sunday night.

According to the head of the family, Solomon Dansura, what began as a calm evening turned into a nightmare around 10 pm, when armed men broke into his home.

Dansura said he barely escaped to seek help, only to return and discover that his two young guests—a serving corps member and a university student had been taken away.

The abduction has reignited widespread fear in Dong, where residents said kidnappings have become too common.

Meanwhile, the District Head of Adagwom Kaze Nyam and community leader, Nenfort Clifford expressed deep concern, urging authorities to urgently deploy more security personnel to protect lives and property.

The woman leader in the community, Mrs. Franca Diwa and a youth activist, Mildred Bako warned that unless government actef fast, Dong could soon be deserted despite its closeness to Jos city, as many families were already relocating and putting their homes up for sale.

The member representing Jos North West in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Mark Na’ah, who visited the scene, revealed that the suspects earlier linked to similar kidnappings had been arrested but later released without trial.

Na’ah called for stronger security and justice to end what he described as a dangerous trend.
