The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has said it is ready to receive Governor Siminalayi Fubara into its fold.
A spokesman for the Emeka Beke-led APC in the state, Darlington Nwauju, said the party wants Fubara to join them because of the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Fubara is expected to return on Thursday, September 18, 2025, after a six-month suspension was imposed on him, his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu, and the Rivers State House of Assembly members.
President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency on March 18, 2025, following a face-off between Fubara and his political godfather and minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike.
Speaking with LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, Nwauju said, ” Given what is happening in PDP, they are not ready to stand by him.
“He should join the All Progressives Congress and carve a future for himself from there. It is very professional advice.”
