The court affirmed Aiyedatiwa’s election after the appeal challenging the validity of his election was withdrawn.

With the judgement, the appeal challenging the November 16, 2024 governoship election has been put to rest.

The legal battle for the number one sit of the state was finally laid to rest after the appellant, Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), formally withdrew his petition.

Shortly after it was withdrawn, the court dismissed the appeal.

Responding, shortly after the judgement, Governor Aiyedatiwa hailed the apex court for the judgement.

He called on politicians in the state to come together for the development of the state.

“Today, democracy has won. This mandate was freely given by the people of Ondo State, and I dedicate this victory to them. Now is the time to unite and build our state together,” Aiyedatiwa said.
