The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed their preparedness for the by-elections scheduled for September 20 across 15 local government areas of the state.

in a statement by its state publicity secretary, Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, the party said it began preparations immediately after the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) released the election timetable.

He added that members purchased nomination forms, took part in primaries and complied with all requirements set by the electoral body.

Although reports from EDSIEC indicate that the APC is the only party contesting the by-elections, the party said it embarked on intensive campaigns across the 62 wards where voting will take place.

The party said, the campaigns included grassroots engagements, rallies and extensive publicity through jingles, posters and social media messages.

“As campaigns officially ended on Thursday, September 18, 2025, we reaffirm our commitment to deepening democracy in Edo State. The APC is determined to bring governance closer to the people and strengthen the local government system not only in Edo but across the country,” the statement read.

The party urged voters and members to remain peaceful and law-abiding during the polls, appealing to non-participating parties not to disrupt the process.

The party also commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for maintaining peace and security in the state and called on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free election.

Confident of victory, the APC assured that it would continue to serve the people of Edo State “with dedication and integrity.”
