Deputy Speaker Kalu Hails First Lady At 65

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu on the occasion of her 65th birthday on September 21, 2025.

In a statement issued to journalists on Saturday in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, the Deputy Speaker described the First Lady as an inspiration to women, a compassionate leader and a strong pillar of support to President Bola Tinubu.

Kalu commended Senator Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to youth and women empowerment, noting that her numerous initiatives and pet projects have significantly impacted lives across the country.

He particularly lauded her support for the reserved seats bill, which seeks to promote gender inclusion and address disparities in political representation.

“I heartily congratulate Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of our President and leader, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, GCFR, on the occasion of her 65th birthday,” the Deputy Speaker said.

She described Senator Tinubu as a passionate and kindhearted leader who has dedicated her life to selfless service to the nation in various capacities, both in private and public life. “Her tireless advocacy for the girl child and her efforts toward improving education and social welfare for women and the less privileged are truly commendable.”

Kalu also praised the First Lady’s legislative legacy during her time in the Senate, saying the National Assembly remains proud of her accomplishments.
