Leaders and supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have called on Nigerians to rally behind his administration, describing his leadership as a divine mandate to rebuild the nation.
The appeal was made at the Tinubu Grassroots Support for Continuity Project 2027 Summit in Abuja over the weekend, where the speakers stressed the need for the citizens to unite behind ongoing reforms.
The national secretary of the Tinubu Grassroots Support for Continuity (TGSC), Dr Agnes Hossana Ajibade, urged Nigerians to reflect on the significance of Tinubu’s presidency and make a deliberate choice to contribute to national transformation.
“This is not about being in APC. The reality is that this man is meant for this assignment. Nigeria is in a mess and President Tinubu is the mechanic fixing the nation. We need to support him with the right tools so that the vehicle of Nigeria can move faster,” she said.
Ajibade also reflected on Tinubu’s political journey, recalling how the conferment of the Jagaban title had been seen as a stepping stone to the presidency and the task of rebuilding the country.
“Jagaban saw when Nigeria was being destroyed. He is not lying to us. He wants to do the right thing because he wants to leave a name. Let us support him,” she added.
Dr Afolabi Tanjudeen, special adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement and national coordinator of TGSC, praised Tinubu’s leadership track record, citing his achievements as Lagos governor despite financial challenges.
“He is like a lion that sets his target and achieves it. He has a blueprint that has guided successive administrations, and now he is determined to lift Nigeria out of suffering,” Tanjudeen said.
The summit also highlighted recent federal government efforts to reduce food prices and support farmers through the distribution of agricultural equipment. Supporters pointed to early signs of declining food costs as evidence that the president’s policies were beginning to yield results.
