A coalition of youth groups and political associations in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have declared their support for the governorship ambition of Engr. Prof. Muhammad Sani Haruna, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
The endorsement rally, which took place at Pentagon Hotel in New Nyanya, Karu LGA, over the weekend, drew prominent political figures, community leaders, women leaders, and youth associations from across the local government.
Speaking at the event, the leader of the Karu youth group, Comrade Kyauta Samuel, said the decision to endorse Haruna was informed by his proven track record of service and his commitment to youth empowerment.
“We decided to call and endorse the candidacy of Prof. Muhammad Sani Haruna because he alone among all the governorship aspirants in the state has more concern for the welfare of his people, especially the youth,” Samuel said.
“He is a grass-root politician with true electoral value. His selfless service to humanity, particularly his impactful solar projects, empowerment programmes, and massive employment opportunities, have continued to put smiles on the faces of the downtrodden.”
Samuel further stressed that Haruna embodies fairness, equity, and justice, principles he said should guide leadership in Nasarawa. He urged supporters to show “total commitment and sacrifice in the journey ahead,” adding that “such attributes would definitely make our brand emerge victorious at the polls.”
He also called on eligible supporters to obtain their voter cards in preparation for the election.
In their goodwill messages, other speakers including Pastor Benjamin Baka of Global Watch, Alhaji Zakari Maiwada, majority leader of Karu Legislative Council, and Hon. Adamu Abubakar, alongside various women leaders and association heads, praised the endorsement. They vowed to work tirelessly to ensure Prof. Haruna’s emergence as governor in 2027.
Although absent due to being out of the country, Prof. Haruna, a former Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), was represented by Alhaji Iyal Hassan Salihu.
“I sincerely apologize for not being able to attend personally,” Salihu conveyed on his behalf. “I deeply appreciate this endorsement and all the kind words. If given the opportunity to govern the state in 2027, I will continue to prioritize human and capital development, alongside policies that will sustain the legacies of the present administration of Engr. Abdullahi Sule.”
The endorsement gathering was attended by all 11 councillors of Karu Local Government and several political figures from across Nasarawa State.
