The newly appointed Yobe State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Abdullah Musa Shehu, yesterday assumed office.
Musa’s appointment was announced on Monday, in a statement that he should resume duty immediately.
Our correspondent who reports that shortly after received the handover notes from the former Head of Civil Service, Tonga Betera Bularafa, the new appointee said he received his predecessor’s noted with good intentions and would do justice to what is contained in it.
He expressed profound gratitude to Governor Mai Mala Buni for entrusting him with the responsibility.
He also pledged to uphold transparency, diligence, and effective service delivery in steering the state’s civil service.
“I assure His Excellency that I will justify the confidence reposed in me and work tirelessly to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Yobe State Civil Service,” he stated.
In his response, the supervising Head of Service and Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Alhaji Bukar Kilo, congratulated the new Acting Head of Service and urged staff to extend the same support and cooperation accorded to past leadership.
The event marked a smooth transition of leadership in the state’s civil service and was witnessed by senior government officials, including permanent secretaries, directors and other top functioning.
