Kunemofa Asu, Director of Finance and Supply at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), will be recognised with the Excellence in Public Service and Financial Management Award at the 2025, 15th Peace Achievers International Awards, which will take place on the 8th of November at Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
With the theme: “Peacebuilding through Sectoral Partnerships,” Asu is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN), with more than two decades of experience in financial administration. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the National Open University of Nigeria and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Rivers State University.
Currently a PhD candidate in Disaster Risk Management at the University of Port Harcourt, she has also completed executive programmes at Harvard University in the United States and the Metropolitan School of Business and Management in the United Kingdom.
In 2025, she was listed among Africa’s 100 Most Notable Peace Icons.
The ceremony will also confer her an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the American Management University, USA.
Other honourees at the 2025 edition of the awards include Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, and Chairman of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Yahuza Ado Inuwa.
Amb. Kingsley Amafibe stated that the event would bring together influential business leaders, investors, policymakers, political leaders, and stakeholders in the security sector.
