Schneider Electric, yesterday, unveiled its comprehensive portfolio of end-to-end liquid cooling solutions designed for hyperscale, colocation, and high-density data centre environments in Lagos.
According to Schneider Electric, the launch marks the company’s first full showcase of its liquid cooling capabilities since acquiring a controlling interest in Motivair in February 2025. The showcase features the Motivair by Schneider Electric suite.
“With AI chips getting hotter and denser as data centres move past 140kW per rack and prepare for power densities of 1MW and beyond, cooling has become a strategic imperative,” said Richard Whitmor, Chief Executive Officer of Motivair by Schneider Electric. “We are the only liquid cooling provider with proven expertise at the silicon level, co-developing solutions with NVIDIA and other GPU leaders. Our unmatched portfolio accelerates time-to-market and delivers higher returns on investment for customers worldwide.”
The senior vice president, Cooling Business at Schneider Electric, Andrew Bradner, emphasised that liquid cooling is no longer optional. He said, “AI is the next technological revolution, making liquid cooling essential for data centres and AI factories. By combining Schneider Electric’s multi-domain expertise with Motivair’s innovations, we are delivering a portfolio that scales globally, minimises risk, and maximizes peace of mind for our customers.”
The research manager for Enterprise Workloads and Datacentre Infrastructure at IDC, Olga Yashkova, said liquid cooling has evolved from a performance booster to a core requirement of modern high-density computing. Schneider Electric’s acquisition of Motivair significantly strengthens its power, electrical, and cooling infrastructure position. Its integrated approach simplifies deployment while reducing the operational complexity of AI-driven data centres,” she noted.
