Comrade Solomon Adodo, a member of the governing board of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), has kicked off the Tinubu Cares Initiative as part of activities to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary celebration in Abuja.
Adodo, who also serves as the president of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), delivered his 65th Independence anniversary message yesterday at the NYCN Secretariat in Abuja.
In it, he described Nigeria’s independence as freedom from colonial rule and the promise of a greater future for all Nigerians, especially the youth.
He saluted Nigerians who fought for the country’s independence and the restoration of the democratic ethos that the people now enjoy.
The youth leader said under Tinubu, Nigeria is on a renewed march towards economic liberation, with the youth prioritised as the drivers of the vision and mission.
He says Nigeria has a “president who believes in us.” Therefore, we must stand firmly with him and work for Nigeria’s economic emancipation. It is on record that from the onset of this administration, programmes and initiatives have been rolled out for the betterment of youth.
“As a leader who sees young Nigerians as true partners in progress, NYCN is determined to ensure that the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President’s vision blossoms beyond just a mantra, but a reality,” he said.
The NYCN president continued, “Today, as part of this year’s independence celebration, we proudly flag off the Tinubu Cares Initiative, a symbol that Mr President truly cares for Nigerian youth, not in words alone but in tangible action.”
Highlights of the celebration included the NYCN’s visit to Area 1 Market, Abuja, where its executives distributed shoemaking and tailoring materials and cash to the traders.
The group also launched the NYCN Entrepreneurial Development Fund to provide zero-interest funding for aspiring young entrepreneurs to turn their dreams into thriving businesses.
It commended the National Assembly, under Senator Godswill Akpabio, for working in synergy with the Executive branch of government to pass laws that have strengthened development across all regions.
