The Federal Ministry of Environment’s National Flood Early Warning Centre (FEW Centre) has issued a flood warning alert in addition to the prediction of 29th September, 2025.

A circular signed by the ministry’s director of the Erosion, Food, and Coastal Zone Management Department, Usman Abdullahi Bokani, listed the locations and their environs likely to experience heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding from 1st to 3rd October, 2025.

The states are Adamawa, Kebbi, Bauchi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna and Niger.

The Kebbi State, with the highest number of locations on the circular, was alerted of flood in Argungu, Bagudu, Ganri-Banza, Gwandu, Jega, Kalgo, Kamba, Kangiwa and Birnin Kebbi.

The state with the least number of locations is Kaduna, which had Jaji and Zaria to worry about, while Niger has Magama and Sarkin-Pawa.

The prominent towns on the list include Mubi, Argungu, Birnin Kebbi, Sokoto, Gusau, Azare and Jega.

He also advised Nigerians living along the waterways to take precautionary measures or evacuate from flood-prone environments to avoid being caught up in any disaster.
