Governor Fintiri Approves N26bn For Roads, Others

Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has approved N26 billion for roads, agriculture, and infrastructure development.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, said the council approved N3.89 billion for the construction of the 11.2-kilometre Plum Road in Michika local government Area, and N6.59 billion for additional asphalt overlay on the Mubi–Garta–Kamale Road, extending it to 17.5 kilometres.

He further disclosed that N4.43 billion was approved for additional asphalt overlay on the 14-kilometre Sukur Road in Madagali, while N3.24 billion was allocated for asphalt surfacing of the 10.3-kilometre Kirchinga Road.

He said these projects will significantly improve road connectivity and promote socio-economic activities in the affected areas.

Other approvals include N1.5 billion for procuring NPK fertiliser for dry season farming and N1.73 billion for purchasing 22 Massey Ferguson tractors and accessories to boost agriculture.

The SEC also approved N460 million for the accreditation of nine academic programmes at the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ganye, N256 million as the 20 per cent counterpart fund for the 2025 Basic Health Care Provision, and N235.6 million as compensation for land acquired for the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi.

Additionally, N481 million was ratified to upgrade the Jada water supply scheme, while N328.5 million was approved to purchase a modern road sweeping truck to strengthen environmental sanitation in the state.

The Commissioner emphasised that these investments demonstrate the government’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure growth, improving agricultural productivity, and strengthening essential services for the state‘s people.
