Police Arrest 72 Suspects, Recover Firearms, Rustled Cattles In Adamawa

Adamawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of 72 suspects and recovery of firearms as well as rustled cattle across the state.

Police listed the recovered 15 illicit firearms to include AK-47 rifles, locally made pistols and111 round of assorted live ammunition.

Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Morris Dankwambo, who gave the details at press briefing in Yola on Friday, said seven vehicles and 25 rustled cattle were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

CP Dankwambo said out of the 72 suspects, 57 have been charged to court while 15 were undergoing investigation for different offences.

He said the arrest, made in the last three months, had nine cases of armed robbery, seven culpable homicide, 22 rape and sexual offences, 18 cases of theft, nine bordering on Shilla gangster and four cases of abduction.

The Command also arrested two women within the period for alleged child theft and trafficking of 13 children to Anambra State.

Police said the children were rescued unhurt while the suspects have been charged to Court.

The Command also rescued another 5 children who were abducted from Maiduguri, Borno to Adamawa State.

Dankwambo said concerted effort was ongoing to apprehend the suspect to face the full wrath of the law.

Similarly, police operatives, in collaboration with hunters, also rescued a 28-year-old Isa Adamu of Gurin village of Fufore local government area of the State who was kidnapped on 24th August, 2025.

The CP appreciated the people of the state for providing timely and credible information, which aided the successes recorded during the period under review.
