The commissioner of Police, Mr. Morris Dankwambo, who gave details of the arrests at a press briefing in Yola yesterday, said seven vehicles and twenty-five rustled cattle were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

Dankwambo said that out of the suspects, fifty-seven have been charged to court, while fifteen are still under investigation for different offences.

He explained that within the last three months, the command recorded nine cases of armed robbery, seven cases of culpable homicide, twenty-two rape and sexual offences, eighteen cases of theft, nine cases of Shilla gangsterism, and four cases of abduction.

The command also arrested two women for child theft and the trafficking of thirteen children who were being moved to Anambra State. The children were rescued unhurt, while the suspects have been charged to court.

Similarly, five children abducted from Maiduguri, Borno State, were rescued in Adamawa. The CP said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the main suspect and bring him to justice.

The CP appreciated the good people of the state for providing timely and credible information, which he said greatly aided the successes recorded during the period under review.
