Benue State government has concluded plans to establish an airport in the state to boost its economy and improve the living standards of the people.

The commissioner for Lands, Survey, and Solid Minerals, Dr Frederick Ikyaan, made this known to journalists in Makurdi.

Ikyaan said, “The airport will have three terminals, cargo, domestic, and international wings and will be part of a larger processing zone that will stretch from Makurdi across the country and globally.”

The commissioner expressed optimism that the project will also enhance the export of agricultural products and create jobs for the people.

He equally noted that the airport will attract more business to the state, adding value to the economic space and improving livelihoods, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to executing projects that will add value to the state’s economy.

Regarding the 50% waiver policy on Certificates of Occupancy (Cofs), Dr. Ikyaan stated that any policy that is favorable to the people of Benue will not be erased, unless it was premised on sentimental basis.

“I want to urge you all to continue to support the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia for his good policies that will attract developers and improve the lives of Benue populace.

“I have confidence that with your support, the Alia administration will achieve its goals and improve the economic space of the state in no distant time,” he said.
