In her address at a press briefing held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, on Tuesday, 7th October 2025, wife of Lagos State governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu said the Silver Jubilee edition of the National Women’s Conference, themed “25 Years of Visionary Legacy: Inspiring the Next Generation,” is a reflection of COWLSO’s sustained commitment to advancing the welfare, leadership, and economic empowerment of women in Lagos and beyond.
She said the three-day Conference, held from Monday, 28th to Wednesday, 30th October 2025, in Lagos, will attract 3,000 physical delegates and 2,000 virtual participants from across Nigeria and beyond.
Mrs Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, is expected to deliver the 25-year Silver Jubilee Address at the Conference.

“For a quarter of a century, COWLSO has stood tall as a formidable platform committed to the advancement, empowerment, and transformation of women here in Lagos and across Nigeria,” she said.
“This milestone edition challenges us to reflect on our journey, celebrate our legacies, and hand the baton to the next generation of women leaders and change-makers.”
The governor’s wife revealed that several pre-conference activities have already commenced to extend the conference’s impact to the grassroots, saying,’’ These include free health screenings, environmental sanitation exercises, empowerment of vulnerable persons, and visits to orphanages and care homes.’’
Earlier, the 2025 National Women’s Conference Chairman, Dr Olayemi Oke-Osanyitolu, described the forthcoming event as a historic Silver Jubilee celebration of women’s empowerment, leadership, and service.
