Minister of Works Engr. David Umahi has demanded that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde withdraws comments that he was “dancing around figures” when he appeared on Arise TV programme or come forward for a debate on engineering practice, particularly road construction.

Recall that the minister recently had a face-off with Arise News anchor Oseni Rufai when he appeared on the programme to clarify the Lagos-Calabar Coastal highway project.

Rufai had demanded to know the cost of the road per kilometre a development that triggered confrontation on the live broadcast.

Makinde was reported to have said the minister was dancing with figures when asked to give a breakdown of the project cost on national TV.

However, Umahi yesterday while inspecting the reconstruction of the Keffi Bridge and the Keffi-Oweto-Otukpo road demanded a retraction of the comments made by the governor.
