Delta State House of Assembly(DSHA) has expressed readiness to provide the legislative backing and oversight to ensure transparency, accountability and efficient utilisation of Delta State Security Trust Fund.

The Fund, established by law enacted by the Assembly, is designed to mobilise resources to complement government investments in security.

Reacting to the official launch of the Trust Fund, speaker of the House, Hon. Dennis Guwor said that the launch is timely and strategic to promoting peace, stability, prosperity and good governance in the state.

The speaker in a statement made available to newsmen by his chief press secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, reaffirmed the House’s unwavering support for policies and programmes that promote the welfare, safety, and prosperity of all Deltans.

Guwor commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, on the unveiling of the Trust Fund, which he described as a bold and forward-thinking initiative aimed at strengthening the security architecture in the state.
Guwor called on corporate organisations, development partners, and well-meaning individuals to support the Fund as a shared responsibility in building a more secure and prosperous Delta State.

He particularly commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his visionary leadership and commitment to building a more prosperous Delta State.

He expressed optimism that the initiative would attract significant contributions from corporate organisations, individuals, and other stakeholders, citing the landmark donation of ₦10 billion by the chairman, Tantita Security Services, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.

Guwor assured the people of Delta State that the Assembly would continue to provide legislative support and oversight to ensure the effective implementation of the Security Trust Fund.
