Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he’s optimistic the Gunners will win this year’s Premier League title.
Speaking on beIN SPORTS, the former Gunners manager said Mikel Arteta’s side now boast a “more complete squad” than the reigning Premier League champions, pointing to our makeshift line-ups in recent weeks as proof.
Asked whether Arsenal can challenge for the title this season, Wenger replied: “Yes, without any hesitation. You might say that I say that every year, but I believe this year they are really equipped to deal with any problems.
“When they lost Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka last season it was too much but this year you have (Noni) Madueke… (Eberechi) Eze can replace (Martin) Odegaard this year, you have (Gabriel) Martinelli, (Leandro) Trossard.
“At the back they have (Cristhian) Mosquera, down the flanks and at the back they have replacements.
“(Myles) Lewis-Skelly doesn’t get in the team at the moment, and he’s in the English national team. They have the most complete squad.
