The Chairman, Forum of Social Democratic Party (SDP) State Chairmen, Hon Femi Olaniyi, has said that Shehu Gabam’s exit from the party as National Chairman marks a huge victory for party members.
In a press statement issued yesterday, Olaniyi said the departure of Gabam from the party comes after a tumultuous tenure during which he was seen as a negative influence on the party’s political development.
“The Forum of State Chairmen welcomed Gabam’s exit as a crucial moment for the party’s future. Our gratitude goes to the National Working Committee for taking the necessary steps to remove Gabam and other divisive figures from their positions.
“The move is seen as a bold step to protect the party from further harm and ensure a more positive trajectory moving forward,” he said.
He stressed that members of the SDP across the country are now looking towards a new era of unity and progress, with the removal of those who have been causing division and mischief within the party.
“With Gabam’s departure, it is hoped that the SDP can move towards a more positive and productive direction.”
