Kebbi Governor Redeploys 2 Commissioners In Minor Cabinet Reshuffle

In a bid to revamp the state’s governance machinery, the Kebbi State Government has announced a minor overhaul of its cabinet, effective immediately.

The move, disclosed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, on Monday, in Birnin Kebbi, involved the redeployment of two Commissioners to new roles.

Governor Nasir Idris approved the transfer of Hon. Samaila Yakubu Augie to the Ministry of Health and Hon. Haliru Aliyu Wasagu to the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs.

According to the SSG, the redeployment was part of the governor’s strategic plan to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s governance structure.

The statement read, “I am directed to convey the approval of the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for the redeployment of the aforementioned Honourable Commissioners. This directive is for strict compliance and takes immediate effect.”

The SSG noted that the governor valued the collaboration and support of all members of the State Executive Council (SEC), which have been instrumental in the administration’s achievements so far. “The Governor reaffirms his commitment to maintaining peace, unity, and improving service delivery to the people of Kebbi State,” the statement added.

He added that the latest development was part of the governor’s broader initiative to reposition the state for optimal governance and development, and to ensure the delivery of quality services to the people.
