The chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, has charged members of the Grassroots Mobilisation for APC Nationwide to demonstrate their capacity and commitment to securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.

Maikalangu made the call during the formal inauguration and award ceremony of the Grassroots Mobilization for APC Nationwide held in Abuja, which drew party stakeholders, traditional leaders, and supporters across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In his goodwill message, the AMAC Chairman urged the newly inaugurated executives to translate their positions into tangible results by mobilizing at least 1,000 new members each in their respective areas.

“You are not just chosen because you are beautiful; you were selected because of your potentials and capacity to deliver.

In the FCT, it has always been difficult to win elections, but this time around, we will get it right.

I am doing my best in the rural areas to provide support, and I charge you to do the same wherever you are,” he said.

He encouraged members to build strong relationships within their communities, marketplaces, and worship centers, stressing that such grassroots connections were vital for galvanizing broad-based support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC.

“If you don’t have votes at all, give us 1,000. Each member here should be able to bring in 1,000 membership cards. Let’s not just hold positions; let’s prove our capacity by bringing people and ensuring they have voting cards,” Maikalangu added.

Speaking on behalf of the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Hon. Sam Tor Mchivga, commended the mobilisers for their dedication and described them as the foundation of the party’s success.

“You are a bloc in this particular movement. There is no structure without foundation. You, as the grassroots mobilizers for this particular project, are very important,” Mchivga said.

He urged them to see their involvement as a privilege and to work tirelessly toward ensuring the actualization of the APC’s mission.

“Consider yourself privileged. As you go back to your various communities and destinations, work tirelessly for the actualization of this project that you will leave behind for others. You will not regret it, by the grace of God. So, please put everything in your capacity to make this project a very successful one. My principal has asked me to come and thank you. I appreciate you. They are working for you, and you are working for them. You will not be disappointed,” he stated.

Also speaking, Hon Bala Mustapha Danwaki, who represented the APC national chairman, called for continued unity and support for the party’s vision of national development.

“Together, we all continue to support our great party, the APC, and ensure the continual progress and prosperity of our dear nation. Long live the APC, our noble leader, Her Excellency,” he said.

Earlier in his address, the national coordinator and founder of Grassroots Mobilization for APC Nationwide, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal Rabana, recounted the group’s history and role in the APC’s rise to power.

He said the group emerged after the merger of opposition parties that formed the APC in 2013 and had since contributed significantly to the party’s victories in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 general elections.

According to him, the organisation remains committed to its objectives, which include supporting the APC’s developmental agenda, promoting youth and women’s political participation, and strengthening grassroots empowerment through collaboration with government and non-governmental agencies.

“With Grassroots Mobilization for APC Nationwide, landslide victory is sure,” Rabana declared.
