Niger North senator and chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, has offered medical care to inmates in the correctional centres across his constituency.
The chairman, of Senator Abubakar Sani Bello Constituency Committee on Health Dr Fatima Goje said it is part of the commitment of the senator to humanity.
She said, ” it is a comprehensive medical outreach for inmates across Correctional Centres in Niger North Senatorial District”.
According to her, it aligned with the senator’s consistent efforts to improve access to quality healthcare for all.
She said the committee, which coordinates the senator’s philanthropic and humanitarian interventions in the areas of health, infant medical care, nutrition, and maternal support, has now expanded its scope to include the welfare and medical needs of inmates within the Senatorial Zone.
“This initiative signifies a strategic broadening of his constituency healthcare coverage, extending beyond towns and rural communities to reach those incarcerated or awaiting trial, individuals often neglected by society” the chairman of the committee added.
She described the programme as intentional and people-centred leadership, that reflect true representation.
Dr Gone said the aim of the senator was that every constituent deserves inclusion including those behind the walls of correctional facilities adding that it underscored his empathy, foresight, and dedication to holistic development.
