Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State marked his 58th birthday on Tuesday with a humanitarian gesture, visiting hospital patients in Yola and donating N30 million to support their medical treatment.

The Governor announced a donation of N15 million to patients at the Specialist Hospital, Yola, and another N15 million to the endowment fund of the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), Yola, to assist those battling cancer and other life-threatening ailments.

Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery across Adamawa, noting that the government is investing heavily in the construction and equipping of secondary healthcare facilities throughout the state.

He assured that a significant portion of the state’s annual budget will continue to be allocated to the health sector to guarantee access to quality medical services for all citizens.

Addressing concerns over a proposed strike by resident doctors, the Governor appealed for understanding, urging them to place public interest above all else. He pledged that his administration remains committed to resolving their legitimate demands and enhancing working conditions in the state’s hospitals.
