Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Ebonyi State, Chief Ifeanyichukwuma Odi yesterday described as unconstitutional, the decision of the Ebonyi State government to impose a fee of N5million before the use of schools, market and other government facility for campaigns.

Odi who expressed concern over the decision insisted that the imposition ran contrary to the provisions of the electoral act and the constitution of the federal government who allowed for use of government facilities for the purposes of campaigns.

The PDP governorship candidate made the disclosure in Nkalagu, the country home of the senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial zone during his Thanksgiving service at Christ the King Catholic Church Nkalagu, Ishielu Local government area of the state.

He maintained that the decision was anti-people insisting that no amount of intimidation and harassment would deter the PDP from carrying out its campaigning and subsequently win the election in the state.

Chief Odi stated that the PDP in the State remained one united party despite the litigations that engulfed the party since after the party primaries adding that one of his manifestoes was to unify all aggrieved party members.
