Presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani has said Nigeria’s worsening security challenges is an artificial issue and over-rated.

Sani who is also the national chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) said the fact that Nigeria’s military has the capacity to crush the insurgents is an indication that the situation is either politicised or the right thing is not being done.

He promised a better welfare package for military officers to motivate them to wipe out insurgency from the country.

Sani said, “We will do it differently. So, the issue of insecurity, believe me, is artificial.”

In an interview with journalists in Abuja, Sani said there was no need to keep Nigeria’s security chiefs continuously in office when it’s obvious that they cannot lift the morale of the rank and file.

“If elected the next Nigerian president, Sani said he will stop crude oil theft that has seen the nation lose billions of dollars to what is largely seen as official corruption to free up money for the prosecution of insecurity.”If I have it, I will be able to fight corruption in the oil and gas sector. There’ll be enough money to buy equipment. Yes, that’s what the military requires. They’ll be engaged. They’ll be put on their toes through training and retraining and welfare packages.

“And, you know, we’re both involved in both kinetic and non-kinetic measures to fight this artificial something that’s not part of us. It’s artificial in the sense that it’s not another country fighting us now.

“But this is something ragtag, you know, people that have no training, the kind of training that we’re talking about, that cannot afford to even acquire the kind of equipment that our military can acquire,” he said.

Sani stressed the need to mobilise the rank and file in the military to go the extra mile “because you need them to go excellent is to tell them that you can get promotion because every military officer wants to retire, either as a general or having reached the peak of his career.”

The ADP chairman who likened the election of President Buhari-led federal government in 2015 to jumping from frying pan to fire, said his party stands a high chance of winning the 2023 election.

He called on all Nigeria voters to come out in mass and vote his party into government to rewrite the Nigerian story and deliver the needed infrastructure.
