The Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship has called on the Federal Government to, as a matter of urgency, prioritise national security and stability by arresting, prosecuting and disarming terrorist groups, bandits and violent militias across the country.
The Fellowship, an alliance of Evangelical Churches and Mission Agencies in Nigeria, made the call in a communiqué issued at the end of its 60th Anniversary Strategic Church and Mission Leaders’ Summit, held between November 3rd and 6th, 2025, in Abuja.
It expressed deep concern over what it described as the painful reality of religious and ethnic-motivated terrorism, violence and recurring attacks on communities in several regions of the country.
The group urged the Federal Government to intensify collaborative efforts to combat terror, protect vulnerable communities, and ensure the safe return of all displaced persons to their ancestral homes.
It also called for the promotion of religious freedom, tolerance and unity among citizens, while addressing socio-economic and environmental challenges confronting various parts of the nation.
The communiqué further reaffirmed the Fellowship’s commitment to national unity, progress, and peace, pledging to continue speaking with one voice for truth and justice in Nigeria.
