The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Jeriel Clifford Peter, for allegedly killing his 67-year-old wife, Miltha Jeriel, in Demsa local government area of the state.
The incident occurred on Thursday, November 6, 2025, following a minor misunderstanding that started at a beer parlour between the couple.
During the altercation, the suspect reportedly attacked and stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife and axe, inflicting multiple injuries all over her body.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
Her remains have been deposited at the mortuary of the hospital for autopsy.
The suspect has since been arrested, and the knife and axe allegedly used in committing the offence have also been recovered.
Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, strongly condemned the unfortunate act, and has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yola to take over the case for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
The CP warned against all forms of domestic violence and urged members of the public to seek peaceful resolution of conflicts.
He further reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice served, assuring that no offender will escape lawful punishment.
