The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested some suspects linked to cases of armed robbery, culpable homicide, and vehicle theft in different parts of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Jigawa Command, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

Adam said the arrests were made through strategic intelligence gathering, robust patrols, and inter-agency collaboration.

The PPRO said two suspects, Auwalu Haladu of Buju Village in Dutse local government area and Safiyanu Shuaibu of Maimakawa Village, Gaya LGA of Kano State, were apprehended for their involvement in an armed robbery and murder incident.

“On 19/10/2025, at about 2200hrs, the suspects conspired with two other accomplices, now at large, and deceitfully lured their victim, one Rabo, to a bush path between Maimakawa village and Albasu LGA, Kano State. While in the secluded area, the suspects shot the victim with a Dane gun, resulting in his death, and thereafter made away with his motorcycle,” the statement said.

SP Shiisu said operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID), Dutse, swung into action immediately, leading to the arrest of the suspects, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend their fleeing accomplices.

He added, “The suspects were handed over to the Kano State Police Command for further investigation, after which they will be charged in court to face the full wrath of the law.”

In a related operation, two more suspects—Musbahu Sabo, 25, of Ringim LGA, and Asabe Yahaya, also known as Reza, 45, of Danmasara Quarters, Dutse were arrested for being in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.

“The duo were intercepted while in possession of a Toyota Pickup van with registration number GWA 136 AI, suspected to have been stolen,” the police said.

The police spokesman added that upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to conspiring with three others identified as Arma, Idris, and Yusuf all of Danmasara Quarters, Dutse to convey the vehicle from Hadejia to Dutse for sale.
Shiisu added that “further investigation also linked Musbahu Sabo to a recent case of TVS motorcycle theft at Takur Site.”

The Command said the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for detailed investigation and prosecution.
