General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged President Bola Tinubu to pursue an urgent diplomatic solution over President Donald Trump’s threat of military action, stressing that if the United States attacks Nigeria, no foreign nation would come to help.

Adeboye said the most any of the other world powers would do is issue strong condemnation.

He further stated that Tinubu is not being properly advised by his aides on how best to tackle the security challenges facing the country.

Adeboye stated this while reacting to concerns recently raised by United States President Donald Trump after the November Holy Ghost Service of the church, themed “The Eve of Glory” held in Abeokuta yesterday.

“If America should attack us, China and Russia will not come to defend us. All the so-called world leaders, they will talk; they will condemn what America has done in strongest terms, that’s all they will do. Britain will not come to help, no foreign power will come to our aide,” Adeboye said.

He said those surrounding the president were not doing him any good in the discharge of his duties to the nation.

“When I listened to the president’s speech, especially the part that talked about security where the writer said everything had returned to normalcy and every displaced person  had gone back home, I wondered,” he said.

The cleric, who stressed the sanctity of human life, advised the federal government to give security chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to decisively eliminate terrorist groups or face dismissal.

“In my usual quiet way, I have related with all the presidents who were around when this trouble started. Whatever I discussed with them privately, I did my best behind the scenes. But you can only advise the Commander-in-Chief, you can’t command him,” Adeboye said.

He urged the government to act fast and engage diplomatically with the United States president to delay any planned international action against Nigeria for about 100 days, saying the window should be used to eradicate terrorism once and for all.

Adeboye recalled giving similar advice to the administration of the late president Muhammadu Buhari, lamenting that although progress was made initially, it was not sustained.

He also urged the president to direct the service chiefs to go after sponsors of terrorism and insurgency, no matter how powerful they are.

According to him, Nigeria should not expect military support from any foreign nation if attacked, as world powers would only issue condemnations.

Adeboye maintained that the time for arguments is over, insisting that the government must act decisively to end the killings across the country.

“This is not about Christians or Muslims, innocent people are dying,” he said.
