The Civil Society Coalition on Peace, Security, and Conflict Resolution (CPSC-CR) has commended the Jigawa State government for donating patrol vehicles to security agencies and for other measures taken to strengthen security surveillance, peace, and stability in the state.

The national president of the group, Comrade Muhammad Musbahu Basirka, made this commendation in a press statement issued in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.

He stated that ensuring the security of life and property is a key responsibility of the government at all levels; therefore, investing in the sector is a very positive decision.

According to Comrade Basirka, the recent donation of operational vehicles and motorcycles to the Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force is a commendable step toward boosting the operational capacity of law enforcement and improving security responses to emergency situations across the state.

“This action reflects His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s proactive measures to safeguard lives and property, and to ensure sustainable peace and progress in the state—a move we fully support,” the CPSC declared.

The CPSC-CR also urged the federal government and sub-national authorities to strengthen community policing, deepen intelligence sharing, and prioritize preventive measures over the use of reactive force.

The coalition emphasised that sustainable peace requires collaboration among government institutions, civil society, traditional rulers, and the media.

It reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with stakeholders nationwide to promote transparency, accountability, and peacebuilding efforts to make Nigeria safer, more united, and more prosperous.
