Regina Daniels’ brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, has regained his freedom after he was arrested and charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft offences.
Sammy West’s arrest was reportedly linked to a petition filed by the actress’s estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
Confirming the development, Regina Daniels took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to share a video expressing her excitement over her brother’s release.
“And my brother is out. So, one battle down,” she said joyfully.
In her emotional video, Daniels reflected on the overwhelming support she received during her brother’s detention.
“Guys, do you know it’s really such a big deal to be loved by a lot of people? Wait, can I brag about that? Can I actually brag that I’m loved by so many people?
“See, the kind of love I received this period makes me emotional. I feel good. Jokes on you, Ned, because you thought people would hate me,” she said.
Expressing gratitude to her fans and supporters, the actress added: “That’s something you all don’t know. I have my mothers, my fathers, my uncles, my brothers, my sisters, my friends, my fans, my online aunties and online daddies — everybody fighting for me. Thank you, guys. I can’t even start mentioning names.”
LEADERSHIP had earlier reported that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command arraigned Ojeogwu before an Abuja court following a petition received by the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025.
He was subsequently arraigned on November 6, 2025. According to The Nigerian Lawyer, an Abuja Magistrate Court on Monday granted Ojeogwu bail in the sum of ₦5 million, secured by a legal team led by human rights lawyer, Marshal Abubakar.
The case was adjourned to November 28 for further hearing.
A separate video shared on Monday by activist Omoyele Sowore showed friends and well-wishers, including actress Mercy Johnson, celebrating Sammy West’s release.
The development comes amid reports of deepening tension in Daniels’ marriage to Senator Nwoko.
Daniels had earlier broken down in a viral video over her brother’s detention, tearfully saying, “I will go back,” while lamenting her family’s ordeal.
Nwoko has, however, denied allegations of domestic violence, attributing the actress’s recent behaviour to alleged drug and alcohol abuse.
