Leadership gathered that, in a different incident on the same day, at about 1400hrs, the Division received a distress call regarding a robbery on a perfume vendor between the Pawari and Forestry areas of Damaturu.

“The suspect robbed the victim of valuables, including an FCMB ATM card, a Gionee keypad phone, perfumes worth ₦1,500, and the sum of ₦5,000. Police operatives swiftly traced and arrested the suspect, later identified as Anas Abba, 28, of Ajari Ward.

“The suspect confessed to the crime and admitted to using the victim’s ATM card to withdraw money. The case has been transferred to the State CID for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.

“Similarly, on 2 November 2025 at about 22:00 hours, operatives of the Garin Alkali Police Division responded to a distress call reporting a motorcycle theft.

“The suspect, Mamman Gudu, 20, of Garin Manda village, lured the victim to an isolated area along Gwoi Kura road under the false pretence of needing transport. He then violently attacked the victim with a stick, rendering him unconscious, and fled with the motorcycle.

“Police operatives arrested the suspect, and he has confessed to the offence. Investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be charged to court.”

He added that the Command has observed an increase in incidents of grievous harm and injuries arising from youth clashes in some communities, primarily connected to farmer–herder disputes, drug abuse, and other related social vices.

He said that, the Command is intensifying surveillance and proactive policing to address these emerging challenges.

The Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, reiterated the commitment of the Command to continuous collaboration with members of the public to sustain the momentum.

Ado called on the residents to remain law-abiding and report suspicious activities promptly.
