Sultan Donates N1.3bn School Furniture To Kebbi Govt

Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III has donated school furniture worth N1.3 billion to Kebbi State government as part of his foundation’s commitment to assist the education sector in the state.

The presentation of the furniture was done in Birnin Kebbi metropolis by the emir of Argungu, Sama’ila Muhammed Mera on behalf of Sultan Sa’ad to the state governor, Nasir Idris.

Emir Mera told the governor during the presentation that the donation of 3,785 pieces of furniture was to complement the governor’s efforts in revitalising the education sector in Kebbi.

According to the emir, the furniture were procured with the support of an indigene of the state based in Atlanta, USA, one Aminu Yaro alongside some international partners.

He commended the governor for approving N196 million for the conveying of the furniture from abroad to Nigeria and Kebbi State.

Receiving the items, Governor Nasir Idris commended the Sultan Foundation for the gesture assuring that the furniture would be judiciously shared to all schools across the state.
