Bauchi Govt Tasks Emirs On Peace, Unity

Bauchi State Government has urged emirs and traditional rulers in the state to support government efforts to sustain peace and unity among their people across the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Aminu Hammayo said this while addressing journalists shortly after a closed-door meeting with the six first-class Emirs of the state at the Government House, Bauchi at the instance of the governor, Bala Mohammed.

Our correspondent reports that the meeting convened at the instance of the governor, brought together Emir of Bauchi,  Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, Emir of Katagum, Umar Faruk II, Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmad Sulaiman, Emir of Jama’are, Alhaji Nuhu Ahmad Wabi, Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, and Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman.

He disclosed that the engagement was part of ongoing consultations with traditional leaders, especially in light of the recent creation of additional emirates in the state.

“The Governor emphasized the need for synergy between the government and the traditional institution to ensure smooth integration and effective governance.

“It was a fruitful discussion that reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to preserving the dignity and relevance of our royal fathers,” he said.
