CJ Frees 55 Inmates In Adamawa

The Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, has freed 55 inmates from Yolde Pate Correctional Centre in the state.

Justice Abdulrahman said the inmates were discharged under the power of Prerogative of Mercy of the state government, adding that 40 other inmates were addmitted to bail.

The Justice Hafsat-led Jail Delivery Committee convicted 32 inmates, and reviewed the sentences of 13 others, bringing a total of 140 beneficiaries out of 420 inmates at the correctional centre.

The CJ advised the beneficiaries to engage in fruitful ventures for their benefit and that of their families.

Accordingly, she cautioned them against commiting crime, urging them to live peacefully with all manners of people.

In his remarks, the Comptroller of the Correctional Service, Odunlami Abduljaleel, appreciated the CJ and her committee for the effort to decongest the centres.
