Arsenal must ignore external distractions and remain grounded, according to forward Bukayo Saka, as the London club leads the Premier League title race by four points after 11 games.

Arsenal has accumulated 26 points from eight wins and two draws, having been held to a 2-2 draw at Sunderland last weekend, while Manchester City narrowed the gap with a 3-0 win over Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta’s team has conceded only five league goals so far, but Saka emphasised the importance of not getting carried away.

“We just have to win every game; that’s the mentality we take into each match and see where it leaves us,” he told talkSPORT in an interview published on Thursday.

“We cannot become complacent based on what people are saying because one day they say something, and the next day it’s completely different.

“People’s opinions about us change like the weather. The most important thing is our dressing room, the foundation, and the belief we have in ourselves.”

Arsenal has finished second for three consecutive seasons under Arteta, falling short in 2022–23 and 2023–24, and finishing further behind last year. This sequence of disappointments has left them still chasing their first league title in two decades.

They will next host fifth-placed arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur on 23 November following the international break.

Saka is preparing for World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania on Sunday, with England having secured their spot at next year’s finals in North America after winning six consecutive matches in their group.
