Customs Comptroller Visits Maje Over Camp Attack

Kebbi State Comptroller of Customs Service, Mahmoud Matawalle, has visited the Customs Camp in Maje under Tsamiya borders following an attack by suspected Lakurawa bandits resulting to the death of one Sadiq Tahir Muhammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Customs.

The state comptroller offered prayers for the deceased and addressed officers of the camp during the visit.

The prayers were offered at the palace of village head, Wakilin Maje, alongside the representative of sister agencies, officers stationed in the area and members of the community of Tsamiya.

Matawalle commiserated with the officers and men of the command as well as members of the community over the attack, urging the officers to synergise with sister security agencies and to continue maintaining cordial a relationship with their host communities.

He further advised officers to remain vigilant, always well-kitted and respond decisively when attacked and to create platforms for seamless information sharing with other security agencies.

The village head of Maje, represented by the chief Imam of Maje, Liman Yusuf, also offered prayers for the repose of the deceased Customs officer and extended his condolences to the Nigeria Customs Service and pledged the community’s continued cooperation in sharing relevant information with security agencies.
