Apparently reacting to the expulsion his principal, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and several other prominent members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the FCT Minister’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, has taken a swipe at party delegates who took part in the decision.

LEADERSHIP reports that the PDP Elective National Convention, which is holding on Saturday in Ibadan, Oyo State, ratified the expulsion of Wike alongside former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose; suspended PDP National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, George Turner, Hon. Umar Bature, Alaba Turnah, and others.

The motion for their expulsion was reportedly moved by former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Bode George, who accused the expelled members of engaging in “activities aimed at destroying the party.”

The decision was said to have been overwhelmingly ratified by delegates at the Ibadan convention, signalling the party’s renewed effort to stamp out internal divisions and anti-party conduct.

Reacting to the development, Olayinka mocked those who participated in the convention, insinuating that the gathering in Ibadan was more about festivity than serious politics.

“They went to Ibadan to start Dirty December in November,” Olayinka wrote on his verified social media handle.

“When people decide to start their own Dirty December in November, one can’t but ignore whatever comes out of their mouths.”

The former spokesperson to ex-Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, went further to suggest that the delegates’ decisions were influenced by intoxication and revelry.

“They gathered in Ibadan to do social party, enjoyed themselves and got intoxicated; they are free to say anything,” he added.
