A senior lawyer, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, has been declared winner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) national chairmanship contest at the ongoing Elective National Convention of the party in Ibadan, Oyo State, late Saturday night.

Turaki, a one-time Minister of Special Duties, won with a total votes of 1,516 as a sole contender.
A total of 1,834 valid votes were cast at the election

LEADERSHIP reports that only two party offices were up for contest – office of the National Chairman and that of the National Deputy Organising Secretary, which was clinched by Solarin Adekunle.
