The agreement of the Collaboration was reached when a delegation led by the Kebbi State Area Comptroller of Customs, Mahmoud Matawalle, alongside the Commanding officer of 1 Battalion, Nigerian Army Dukku Barracks Birnin Kebbi, Major Shola Ellijah Mosses, met with officers of the Benin Republic Customs on a visit to Tsamiya/Sebgana in Benin Republic on Wednesday.

Comptroller Ibrahim had told the Benin Customs officers that there is a need for Collaboration between the security agencies of both countries to secure the shared border and enhance mutual trust effectively.
He added that security is a collective responsibility, stressing that their visit was aimed at strengthening cooperation and promoting intelligence sharing for improved border management.

In his response, the Comptroller of Customs, Wara Border in the Benin Republic, Arouna Dramane, commended the initiative and described it as a welcome development.
